Mark Carr The model was made using a AHL Ford Hershey's box truck and a Code 3 Mack C KB-Toys pumper. The cab was removed from the AHL model and the roof was removed and filed down leaving only the windshield frame. All of the accessory parts were removed from both models and the base pieces were stripped of their paint, primed and repainted. The chassis of both models were spliced and fit together and repainted. Once the bulk of the painting was completed, the main parts were fit together to form the Ford pumper. The various accessories and detail parts were repainted and remounted in suitable locations. Once fine painting details and decals were added, the entire model, minus the tires, was covered with coats of clear gloss. Finally, a new windshield was formed into the windshield frame of the Ford opencab truck.
Eric McMurtrey It is a fictitious ARFF rig, built from a ‘Reeses Peanut Butter Cup’ Mack BM tractor/trailer rig. Most of the rig is just the trailer re-arranged to make the box on the truck. The monitor and grab rails on top are made from a coat hanger and florist’s wire. Leftover styrene was used to fill the gaps in the box and make the work platform. The beacon is a jewel bead sitting in a ring of styrene, and additional parts from Jaydeez are the mudflaps, diamond plate decal on the roof, and the ladders. There is an HO scale ‘power unit’ inside the box, visible through the rear opening (though not in any of my photography) to operate the pump on-scene. *Grin* The markings are, obviously, Roadblockers.

Tim Collins It started life as a Peterbilt
single axle tractor dual axle trailer Chevron Gas tanker. I altered
the tractor and trailer chassis using DCP rear sections for both. I
used the wheels from the newest FDNY ladder truck wheels. The pump
housing is from the C3CC tanker, various parts from other units The
decals are various as well. I did not re-paint the rig. I only
removed tampos and added decals. I got the gas truck for $15.00 and
with all the parts added I didn't exceed the $50.00 limit. The
premiss is that it is a large foam tender converted from a gas
truck(Foam 5). It is used to protect a local Chevron refinery. It
has been in service since the early 40's, has been rebuilt a couple
times and just recently upgraded to a new Cat C-13 engine. She is a
favorite among the guys with 4000 Gallons on foam and a 2000 GPM
pump.
Rich Krom This is a Ford F-5 with the open stake body. I cut the body off at a slant at the rear. I built the cabinets out of sheet plastic. The benches under the canopy were also built with sheet plastic. The seats are from a Code 3 Mack C series. The flashlights were made from scraps of plastic and spotlights. The Air Packs were from a Code 3 Mack CF Tower Ladder. The straps and fittings were scratch built. The electric reels were from a Code 3 TDA, with scratch built cranks added. The wiring is made with very thin gauge computer wires. The floor was made using JayDeeze real wood decking. The searchlights are from an old Matchbox and were cast in resin. The smaller lights were Q sirens from a Del Prado ALF 700. I made a removable top from sheet plastic. I made interior dome lights from FRR GPS antennas. The tail lights are from a Code 3 Mack C. The siren, bell and roof beacon were all taken from Code 3 models.

This is an AHL Peterbilt 260 tanker truck. The only modifications to the cab are scratch built tunnel lights, a rotating roof light, and the addition of a bell to the front bumper and a siren from a Del Prado to the driver side fender. The rescue body was built over top of the tank body. The sides of the tank were cut out a little bit to allow the installation of the windows. The windows are from a Code 3 Mack CF. There were no other modifications to the body besides the upper rescue body. The lower tank body with the cabinets remains unchanged. I did cut off part of the rear cabinet and added steps made from diamond plate.
Mike Quinn Los Angeles County FD Engine 70, Peterbilt 260/Crown pumper
John Ackerman The only "commercial" items are the cab, chassis, ladder, and decals. Everything else is entirely scratch built.
