Perry Fire Department's
Assistant Cheif, Brian Eiteman, tells FireEngines.net "The
First Gear Perry Ward Lafrance. We puchased the 1951 Ward
Lafrance new, and we still have the truck. it is a 120T
model open cab 1250GPM Triple combination pumper. We took
delivery on April 14th 1951. The model is a 1/34 scale
truck it is serialized, limited edition, with a COA and this
is the first Ward Lafrance truck made by 1st gear. One
truck is going to the Ward Lafrance museum in NJ. The Perry
Fire department was organized in march 1878. We cover 100
sq miles and 40 volunteer firefighters. We have an average
of 460 calls per year. "
The serial number of the
model will be stamped on the model's license plate, another
first.
