San Francisco Engine Co. 3 is a 2006 American La France Eagle Pumper. Engine Co. 3 has a very unique paint scheme and graphics commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Great San Francisco Earthquake and Fire. The Centennial Edition includes special anniversary door emblems and window decals. The San Francisco Fire Department received delivery of ten of these special anniversary pumpers in 2006.
Engine 3 was first organized on June 6,
1850 and is now housed on Polk St. in the Tenderloin District of San
Francisco. In 2005, E-3 was the busiest fire engine in the United
States when it responded to 8,068 emergencies. Today, it consistently
places in the annual Firehouse Magazine top ten list of busiest fire
engines in the USA.
