1990 Seagrave 100 ft. TDA Philadelphia Fire Department ladder 16. This started out as a Honolulu TDA that was stripped and repainted red (the old color scheme) for Philadelphia fire department. Marked ladder 16. The real truck is now in reserve status. Ladder 16 currently operates a 2004 ALF TDA.

This kit bash was made with a Peterbuilt cab from SpecCast and a Saulsbury body from Code 3. I scratch built the rear door as well as the entire front wall of the rescue body including the light mount. Also, the stacks are made with real aluminum.

Mack CF/ Ward 79 FDNY pumper, 1989
model.
The model is in 1:32 scale, using the Monogram kit for the chassis, wheels and
front part of the cab and some small parts. The complete body work and extension
of the cab is handwork, made out of plastic sheet. The monitor is a self-made
copy of the one on the Code3 diamond plate FDNY model. The warning lights, hose
load and ladder rack was also home made. Model is spray painted using Tamiya
paint. With the help of the site of Mike Martinelli and the books of Calderone I
picked Engine Co.154 ( MP 8918), because I found a nice picture of that unit
with the flags on the front bumper.( Thanks Steve !) Decals came from several
manufactures. Special appreciation to Ken, who send me a picture of the rear of
the Ward 79 body, without that picture I wouldn't have been able to make this
model.

This was modeled after the Toronto Fire Department's
Rescue # S232. I used three pieces to do this truck. The code 3 NYPD MR Mack
Saulsbury and a code 3 Pierce Oak Lawn Squad 1. as well as the orlando pumper
from code 3. Both cabs were cut and stripped. Then they were bonded together,
and I used Squadron white putty to fill in the seams. The cab was sanded. I
added primer to the cab before the paint. I used Model Masters Italian red. The
decals were custom made. The grill was cut out and replaced. I added some small
parts such as antennas, air stack, air horn, light bar and extending lights.
The back of the truck was an NYPD saulsbury back. The diecast was cut to make
the box smaller. It was filed down sanded. Then I used styrene stock plastic
sheets. The sides were put on, the seams filled and sanded. The roll up doors
were also styrene plastic sheets V grooved. That were Cut and placed in as the
doors. The door handles were off the Orlando pumper from code 3. The wheel wells
are made from styrene plastic strips. The lights on the side of the box are from
M V products (L130).

This truck was modeled after the FDNY
1992 Mack MR/Saulsbury Foam Tender Unit. The cab was a code 3 NYPD Mack
saulsbury. The pump panel was from a code 3 Seagrave with some modifications.
The chassis on the back box was from a code 3 bayonne ladder. The cab was cut
off the NYPD box, The pump added.
The back box to the foam tender was all scratch built . I used styrene sheet
plastic. It was measured to scale with the cab. The sheets were cut and put
together with baffles on the inside. The sides were put together and squadron
white putty added. when dried all of the sides were sanded to a round finish.
The black strips are styrene strips and the roll up doors are also styrene
sheets V groove. The paint Model Master Guards red. Some the decals were custom
made and I also used Road blockers FDNY Decals. The lights were MV Products
lenses. The box in the back was tricky it as done over 3 times till it came out
right.
