Rosenbauer Panther 6x6

Rosenbauer Panther 6x6 ARFF June 5, 2005 This is a short review of the Fort Worth Fire Department Alliance Airport R35 Rosenbauer Panther 6x6 offered by Rosenbauer.
This die cast and plastic model is made by a company called Cursor for Rosenbauer. It measures 11.5 inches long, 3.25 inches tall, and 2.5 inches wide.
This model represents the real Fort Worth ARFF with accurate markings. However, it lacks the detail I was expecting. There are no handrails. The lights are painted with the exception of the four headlights and rotating emergency lights on the top of the model. This model does not have the other emergency lights displayed on the real Fort Worth FD ARFF. The roof boom has no detail or markings. The entire boom is white, so I painted the front of the boom to add more detail. The boom does now swivel but does go up, down, and does extend. I added the light at the end of the boom which is barely visible in the photo.
Top of model The top of the model is pretty plain. However, it can be modified with very little effort to increase the accuracy of this model. The interior, like the top, is plain and lacks detail. Conclusion: I live in the Dallas area and was very happy to get this model. This model comes to you as a generic model with very little, other than graphics, detail for Alliance Airport. That being said, I am in the process of modifying it to make it look more like the real truck. I am not a very good kit basher. However, knowing my limits, I think I can make this a very nice looking addition to my collection with very little expense or effort. This model could become the highlight of my Fort Worth collection but it will take a great deal of effort.
