Fireboat Phoenix Model

SFFD Fireboat Phoenix at Pier #2  1/2 (Station 35).  This photo was taken on November 22, 2009, two
days after returning from a complete overhaul.

The model you see here is built entirely out of scratch using only wood, museumboard, and pulp based compound. Vaclav Niedermertl has been a master boat maker for most of his life and received numerous bronze and silver medals.  In Vienna he won the Silver and Bronze Medals of Europe form NAVGA.

 

These models are NOT mass produced but built individually at a rate of about 3 of each model per. This Model took almost 65 hours of work.

 

The model measures 28” Long x 13” high x 6” wide and weighs approx 7.5 lbs.
