Well that didn't take long...Sold out on the same day it was released.
Troy, it happens more often with the limited rig runs, this one took 3 hours (100 models which 30% pre orders to department), the first CFD Hurricane took 4 hours (75 models). I think it's interesting that with both of the fore mentioned releases having multiple trucks or engine numbers, (which was disclosed to the collectors ahead of time) everyone still jumps heavy on the first one or two. All the trucks in the series come at the same time, being hand made there is no numbered model like code 3 did.

DC will be a good seller for the first five engines, the department chief was a leader in making this happen and is promoting it within the department. So the 325 different DC Engines will eventually sell out, and when that happens we may see more from the DC department. Department pride has generated more sales of late as departments get a weeks pre-notice ahead of time so those members can get a chance to purchase before it is opened to the collector base.

It still comes down to what collectors like, the unique and first time departments do go fast The Chicago Snorkel had 250 produced it took a week and a half to sell out. The Chicago and NY Seagrave 1969 version of 125 each, a week, and the Chicago sold out before the FDNY which surprised me.

There are seven more Thursday releases before the August trucks get here, four of them are the remaining DC engines. Just think the end of June trucks which were only Classics for Detroit, Chicago, have not even been received in the states, good news is they should all ship to the customers the first week of July.

Lot's of cool stuff still to come!

Joe

Engine 10 AKA ‘The Dime’ runs a 2018 Seagrave Capitol 1500/500, this rig has been replicated by Fire Replicas, and its stunning. This one won’t last long there are only 65 left after department sales. Don't panic if you don't get one tomorrow Engines 4, 6, 11 and 24 will follow in upcoming weeks...all of which will arrive in late August.
Engine 10 is up on Fire Replicas this morning
