Thanks for sharing the progress. I like the idea of the card stock mock up.

Where did you get the clear pins? They would work well for all sorts of lights.
I’ve learned to use those card mock ups since sometimes the dimensions were’nt right, allthough measured before. And it’s much faster and cheaper to use Pizza packaging than polysterol sheets
Meanwhile I have quite a variety of them

...and for the pins i bought them at a local store, that mostly deals with remaining stocks of closed businesses.

followed by the front extendable scene lights. I later replaced the lights with the thinner ones you see in the foreground.

.

At this point I started to dislike the idea of leaving the mirrors as they are on the truck (like on my first LA County FD conversion :| ).
Since it was very difficult to cut the mirrors away without damaging the cab, I figured to cut horizontal into the mirrors and leave the remaining pieces as supports for the selfmade mirrors
NYPD_ESU_Ford1 (4) (Large).JPG
Since it was a "twin project" and the parts are the same, I only made progress picturs of the FDNY version, which are attached :D

It was not a very big thing to do, but it enhanced the look a lot 8-)
