They seemed to appear from no where with no advance notice other than last weeks newsletter. I figured they'd sell out quickly so I woke up Friday morning, compared them, decided I liked 160 the best and placed my order. Got home from work last night and was floored to see the all red models sold out in a matter of hours. I wonder if the folks at F.R. are as shocked as I am.
No they were expecting them to go fast, the red sold out faster because there were 50 of each, 150 yellow/green, so it would take longer. The other thing that made these sell out besides being FDNY and each model has different decorations is the fact it filled a void for ALF collectors who have not seen a good cab since the AMT models. The FDNY Mack CF engines sold out very quickly with the exception of Engine 9 which again had the most made, they still have 4 of those. The Mack R's did sell out fast as well. The order they sold out was Engine 225 "Home of the Brave" Engine 232 "The Tin men",
