Well the wait is over and I received this model yesterday - in a word, it's fantastic! Having seen and photographed the real one that it's based off of at the last Columbus show, I can say that they did not miss a trick with this one and hopefully they continue with this series of 70's van ambulances. The one curiosity is their decision to go with a TwinSonic instead of the Beacon Rays on the real one, and the even more curious thing is that this lightbar appears to be the Fire Response Replicas tooling from their Diplomat cruisers. I'm posting photos of the real one for comparison. Curiosities aside, don't miss this one if you're a fan of ambulance models!

Mike I have seen this real unit with 3 different set's of light bar's. Over time owners change thing out, just 5 years ago the mars 888 were not on it.

The FRR Twin Sonic is on a plastic inject with a ton of other clear parts. That tooling is owned by Greenlight now. Neo tooled the Twin Sonic for the model, probably from Dennis's archives, as this was all a Dennis Deal project. Dennis photographed and measured the unit extensively at Columbus, and obtained photos from the owner of the previous version. Neo decided to go with that version, for their own reasons.

Actually, The decals came off the SDPD ambulance very easily just using scotch tape. I'm hoping this ambulance is the same.
