Hello. Has anyone compared sizes of First Gear 1/34 Mack & Freightliner tankers - with Code 3 1/32 Diamond Plate (and Franklin Mint) engines and trucks? Dimensions sound compatible, so why the difference in stated scale? Any insights or comparison photos are appreciated!

Realistically They are pretty close to each other. As for why each used that particular scale? Who knows. It is like why some use 1/24 and other 1/25. And Welly goes all 1/27 scale.

There is only a 6% difference in size between 1/34 scale and 1/32. But for something as long as a piece of fire apparatus the difference would be quite visible. For example apparatus with a 240 inch wheel base in 1/34 scale would be 7.06 inches. That same 240 inch wheel base in 1/32 scale would be 7.5 inches. Putting both pieces side by side and the length difference would be obvious.

That is very helpful for sure, exactly what I was wondering. Thanks very much for the precise measures!
