Paint Color

Would like some suggestions on what paint color I should use on the wheels of the Welly Dodge Charger. I tried aluminum, but it seems a little dark. Chrome I would think be a little to shinny.

Thanks

I use Ace Hardware bright aluminum over white primer. Its a match for the aluminum wheels from FRR models.

Well it looks like Ace no longer carries that paint color. I did try Ace Chrome Aluminum, but not that happy. What do you think, is it still to shinny?

You may want to look at Walmart for their Aluminum. Anything with the word chrome will be too bright. ALso you may want to try painting over a gray or black primer. I practice on Matchbox models since they are cheap. I also have a bunch of plastic stick I paint samples on to see what color they are and make notes for the future.

Last option is to hit this with a coat of matte or dullcoat.

Here is an update. Rust-Oleum bright aluminum on the left and Chrome aluminum on the right. So what do you think.

The left looks more correct. I will be honest I thought you were painting the 5 spokes. I haven't seen these on a car painted silver. I like them.

If I can offer a suggestion, I would either give them a wash of thinned black or drill out the holes for a more realistic look.
