Seagrave Marauder II and Sutphen Monarch Demo Engines

A snowy cold day here and I have the itch to do something. I pulled out the extra Sutphen and Seagrave demo's I got. BTW these are 2 of the trucks that you can get the end of year cash deal on for 2 more weeks if you want to have some fun and create your own models.

The Sutphen needs the door logo to come off, using a toothpick it is easy to remove. This one is sitting waiting for some custom decals from Inquarters.com. I was going to do both for the same department since the paint colors are exact, however than I remembered that door logo does not come off the Seagrave using my toothpick or tape.

With the Seagrave you can remove the letter and flame very easy. I use a little masking tape and run a toothpick over it the decal will lift offend you dont hurt the paint. Using other decals from inquirers they will cover the door logo easily. With the flame on back you can remove it however it takes more time. I have found it can be covered as well or you can cover it with a decal.

I still need to come up with town name for the Seagrave engine. I am also going to put a new stripe on, I will keep you guys posted. Again both of these are great add's to the collection. I know they will be gone soon.
I still hope down the road we see some of these demo's they are a blast.

Made a little progress on changing the stripe out, once I removed the door handles I played down a White stripe over it. Now to tackle the rear, the white stripe looks good on this.

The rear compartment doors are decals basically silver trim from Micro Scale they also have stainless steel. The stripes are InQuarters. This side is Silver Film Trim the other will be stainless steel. Still trying to figure out a department name. The co2 extinguisher is from a corgi part.

Now I have done two Seagrave Marauder II Demo engines, again not hard at all to bash, just some time, patience, and imagination. Using decals from InQuarters and micro scale with a few little parts added. The roto-ray is from the FR Farifax TDA. Had a bell on from a TWH just looked big so I will need to reach for one. The hose cover is from my code 3 parts. The Word Columbia is from the Columbus decal sheet with a little modification, the door number, and rear decal are also from that sheet. I am sure I will get a sunny day next summer to get better pictures.
