Here is my freshly completed Hill Street Blues 1/43rd scale 1975 Plymouth Fury marked as unit 2202, the cruiser driven by Officers Bobby Hill and Andy "Cowboy" Renko throughout the 7 seasons it aired on NBC. The model started life as a finished Greenlight NYPD car, as shown in the pictures below. The model was completely disassembled, stripped of all paint, then re-painted and reassembled using the tan interior from Greenlight's Hunter Dodge Monaco. The grille and wheels were the most challenging to re-paint as they aren't metal so I couldn't strip them of their blue paint like I could the body - the stripper I use eats plastic. The lightbar lenses were painted clear red and decals from InQuarters Decals, Microscale, and Chimneyville were used to finish it off. Note that each of the letters used for the words "METRO POLICE" were individually applied to clear decal paper and then coated with decal film to create these decals. I've been waiting patiently for decades for any model manufacturer to make a model of a '75 Fury, and this one from GreenLight Collectibles does not disappoint!

As I mentioned to Mike on EmergencyModeler, I did the Metro decal in red to match my Police on the Chicago sheets. If you need them when you do a Hill Street Blues car, and you order the Chicago decals from me, let me know you need the Metro. I don't include them with the CPD retail sheet.

Really nice build, Mike. And Rich, it's great of you to offer up the right decals to finish off the project! Great teamwork!

It looks great. As a comparison, here is the real car. I shot this photo in 1984 when I worked for the production company that owned/maintained all the HSB vehicles.

Thanks all - appreciate the comments and information. This was one of those projects rattling around in my mind for years, just waiting for the right donor model to be released by anyone. So glad that Greenlight came through!
