I made this using a Code 3 Collectibles Suburban. I filed off the front fender lights, then stripped and repainted with automotive paint. I made the front winch bumper, winch, fairlead, push bars and siren speaker. I added spotlights painted flat black. The lightbar is a Johnny Lightning. I like this one because it has more detail than the Code 3. You do have to sand the domes down some. I made a traffic master for the rear roof, and added a loading light.

Man that is nice. I have one in white painted I was thinking of going this way. Now not so much. It would pale in comparison.
As a side note, Hot Wheels made a Chevy Version that is nearly idenitcal to the Code 3 but it is missing the side lights. It even has a rear module type unit ins the rear. But they only released it in their NASCAR range and I think a couple other promos and Whips line. They can often be had cheaper than what people ask for the Code 3.
These are some of my favorite models to play with. But as a dealer I couldn't give them away. I think I made less than $1 each when I sold Code 3.

I have a couple of shoe boxes full of Code 3 Suburbans. I could never give them away either. They are starting to become more desirable to new collectors, but you are lucky to get what you paid for out of them. Once you file off the front fender lights, they are really nice. I always thought that they were a little too small. Maybe we will get lucky and get some good parts to interchange from Greenlight.

I felt like they were a little small also. But I still enjoy them in the collection.
The CHP version you've made here looks great.
Thanks for sharing
