Joe,
Your work still amazes me. the only question I have is, how do you decide you are going to kitbash an expensive Fire Replicas model? Asking for a friend. lol

Re: Fire Replicas 75' Seagrave Aerialscope
Bill,
It was a tough choice to play with the first one, I am hooked now on changing them in-fact when I see a new release I am just trying to figure out what to change it to. I also was lucky enough to get a few Less Than Perfect trucks early on, they are far and few between now, so I am glad I had some to practice with. The trucks are easier to work with than code 3. Resin is not a bad material to work with however you don't make a lot of changes because the casting's have holes, or indentations on where parts go back. My favorite part is changing up decals since the finish is automotive paint the decals can be removed. Only a few trucks have wraps which is a total strip down and repaint.
The last 2 trucks I got Detroit, and a Chicago Wards, were basic renumber the truck, it's more fun knowing I have a 1 of 1. The other thing is there are plenty of parts to be had if you are willing to contact shapely people to have them made in 1/50 scale.
At the end of the day you would be surprised on how many I don't have, because I did a decal job for someone else.
I have always recommended someone start off with a Demo truck like the Seagraves or Sutphen, re-decal it. if you can re-decal a truck, you will be able to remove decals from another model and create your own. At the end of the day you do need to convince yourself it you screw up a 275.00 model will you be ok with yourself. I have not tossed any away I have been lucky, however still taking baby steps.
If you want a Less than perfect contact Brad at https://alliancescalemodels.com

Here's some more progress, I need to decal the driver side and add the climbing ladder. Hopefully I will be done this week.
