followed by creating the parts on the underside of the telescope boom segments (no idea what their function is or what they´re called )

..the finished pieces, placed onto the boom
the next small things were the the scene light for the basket..
...and the support/strut for the telescope boom (not showing every step since it basically was just 2mm styrene stripes put in a rectangular shape, bent, done)

Re: 1:32 FDNY Seagrave Towerladder in progress
so the next, a little more complex, part was the further completion of the basket pipe system.
Since i want to have it moveable it was a bit tricky to get the right angle to have the pipe tilting properly (ok still not 100% accurat, but fine for me ) followed by some further details for the basket like the scene light boom (out of a 1,5mm round styrene rod and l-shape leftovers) and the small ladder on the back of the basket.
with this done, the first paintcoat for the extendable boom segments, the ladders and the basket followed

Re: 1:32 FDNY Seagrave Towerladder in progress
With this done, i continued to add the rubber shock absorbers, out of 1mm black styrene sheets, to the bottom and the grating of the basket. I further drilled small holes into the shock absorbers to imitate the attachment bolts.
once this was done, i´ve made some "movement tests" with the pipe system.
(Not following my own advise ) being not 100% satisfied, i tried to adjust the angle of the connection between the moving and the static part; big mistake
Of course the static part broke off; so i´ve had to remake another one, which still doesn´t work 100% accurate, but i leave it as it is now
So the last pictures of the basket shows the part pretty much the way it will stay on the truck (of course with added decals and some more paint at the end)

The last part for this update are the cable drums, which are placed on the sides of the telescope boom.
These were made out of plastic cotton reels, rectangular evergreen pieces, u-shape polysterol rods and round rods/tubes in different diameters.

The last pictures for this update showing the cable drums roughly in place on the boom and an overview of the current status of the whole rig, hope you enjoyed it

Re: 1:32 FDNY Seagrave Towerladder in progress
Hi everbody, yes this build continues
since my last post i left the truck aside for a while, but i picked it up the last three months and was rather building than posting something
But now a little progress with the making of the boom control panel on the turntable.
I therefore used some remainings of the diamondplate pieces of the 10 truck as well as some thin wire and a clear yellow plastic sheet as worklight cover.

And one picture with the control panel on the turntable
Next i created the company logo panel attachment pieces out of a cable shaft leftover
+ the powercable "guide rails"?? which atre also attached to the telescope boom.
