Meriden, CT PD 1985 Dodge Diplomat - 1/43 First Response Replicas

This is one that I have had painted for a long time, but just couldn't get it across the finish line as I lacked a clear photo of the door emblem to be able to have decals made. A friend of mine from middle school who is retired MPD just happens to have one of the actual door decals, and once it was smoothed out I was able to send a photo of it and of an actual MPD cruiser off to Cardinal Police Diecast to finally get the decals made. They turned out great, so without further adieu, I give you a 1/43rd scale 1985 Dodge Diplomat of the Meriden, CT Police Department, painted in authentic Chrysler EC-7 "Twilight Blue Pearl Metallic clearcoat." During the 80s, Meriden alternated yearly purchases between Diplomats and Plymouth Gran Furys, with some years being this lighter blue and others being a darker navy blue. Lightbars also varied between the Whelen 9000 used on this model and the early Whelen Edge as shown in one of the photos below of the real car. A special shout out to Zoli Honeczy for creating the "55-ME" license plates for me.

I really like this. As was mentioned. Something about the simplicity of the design does send a message with the door shield. I also really like blue police cars.

I might have to steal this look for a generic model.
