Welcome to Part 5 of the “Second Alarm” feature on the Irvington NJ Fire Department. Before getting to the pictures, I’d like to thank all of the people who have gotten in touch with me and voiced their support for the column—I appreciate your thoughtfulness and enthusiasm.


In part 5, we will see a variety of photos from the 50’s to the 80’s.

First up is Engine 3, a 1927 American LaFrance, on the apron at Station 3.

A few of the stations:
Station 2, with an E-One in front line service and one of the 1974 Wards as a reserve. The E-Ones have since been replaced by Spartans.
