Entry Info:
This rig started out as a Code 3 membership Freightliner tanker. The
truck was shorten by removal of pump panel and forward compartment.
Next, it was put back together and painted black. Added details include
some stainless where the rear hose reel was, DCP mudflaps and exhaust
stacks underneath, and was converted from dual rear axles to a single
rear axle. It was then raised up and given big tires to give it an
off-road look. ....Billy Robertson

Entry Info:
This one started life as a DCP Peterbilt 379 with 36" sleeper. The
sleeper was removed and the pump panel and toolbox from the Code 3
tanker was put in its place. Some slight modification was required to
get it to sit level and looking good. The trailer is an aluminum rail
lowboy which was made by David Beasley and painted and detailed by me.
The trailer also holds perfectly my off-road fire tanker (entry #1).
Lastly, the bumper, some lights, and the front hose reel came off of a
Winter Park Quantum, other lights are from little rhinestone-type beads,
added steps behind toolbox, and a DCP Kenworth step on the passenger
side of the rig under the pump panel. A DCP Peterbilt horn was also
added to the driver side of the hood...Billy

This is a kitbash of a Clark County Engine
19, FDNY Mets Ladder, and Chino TDA. The unit features a tractor portion
that was constructed from the Clark County engine. The Chino turn table
hitch aerial trailer was mated to the tractor portion. The FDNY Mets
ladder serves in place of the Chino ladder. The piece also features a
rear-ladder compartment that was hand-constructed from a Las Vegas
Engine 5 hosebed. The tiller cab was a hybrid constructed from the
Chino Engine and tiller cab. Displayed with the outriggers affixed on
the outside portion of the truck, the unit appears in ready position.
This design was inspired by the
E-1 Cyclone 2 HP100 Tiller. Built over a
four-week period, this is my second kitbashing endeavor. Darrell

This model is based
loosly off the Port Authority Wreckers used on the Bridges and Tunnels
that connect NYC to NJ. These Wreckers are also capable of Fire suppresion,
extrications, and EMS first response.
My kitbash chasis is
taken from a First Gear 1/34 Mack MR Refuse Rear Loader. I modifed and
shortened the frame, removed the refuse body, and built the body and most
of the detailwork from scratch. This was the first kitbash that I ever
built, and although it does look amateurish which it is, I learned a great
deal from this model and hope to build a better version this fall.
The kitbash is a fictional, but there actually is a New York State Thruway
Authority Wrecker 1 Bridge Patrol, which responds on the Tappan Zee Bridge
connecting New York's Westchester County to Rockland County. This kitbash
is what the guys operating Wrecker 1 would like to have, especially
considering they respond to numerous serious incidents on the bridge every
year. It's short wheelbase is desired when navigating in traffic, and
capabilities are much more then there current International Medium Duty
wrecker. Seth Granville |

This is a Christie Steamer Engine by (AMT)
which i completely re-done. The paint was wet sanded and painted the
mustard Yellow, as well i did all my own decals by computer and ink jet
printer. All other detail ws done by hand. The Company represented is the
Washington Hose & Steam Fire Co. from Conshohcoken PA. Note: The yellow
mustard paint color originated from the Horses "urinating" on the
Apparatus back in the day, thus resulting in the Company sticking w/ the
Yellow color till this day....Jerry Watson, Jr. |

FDNY 1979 Mack CF Hi-Ex Foam Unit
conversion, reg # 7952. This rig was originally assigned to E 308,
then assigned to E 212 in Brooklyn until they were disbanded in 2003
and re-assigned to E 262 in Queens. This was the oldest Mack in service
in the FDNY and was removed from service only late in 2006.
The model began as a C3 CF Mack and has
seen some modest modification. The hosebed dividers were removed and
replaced with the manifold based eductor for the Hi-Ex fan and the fan
assembly. this was scratch built from sheet plastic, K&S screening and a
set of fan blades from a railroad locomotive. The rear roof has been
removed to accomodate the conversion, and the correct emergency lights
have been put in place....Ken Martin

Hazmat 1. My first kitbash. Obviously I did
not try and duplicate the actual apparatus but I wanted to build something
that would look like it could be an actual rig. This was originally a
Rescue 3. I removed the underbody compartments and the command light. I
added an extended rear step and accessories, a rear mounted roof access
ladder, a weathered stokes basket on new diamond plate, scene lighting and
a set of ladders on the top of the walk-in. The parts were all acquired
from "donor apparatus" except the front bumper received a set of hand made
"Rookie Bars". The decals are
Roadblockers. I also painted the wheels, rub rail and marker
lights....Bill Hunter

This
model was built to replicate the brand new 2007 Horton International Type
1 medium duty ambulance designed and purchased by Berlin Area Ambulance
Association (located in Somerset County, PA). This is one of two trucks
operated by the service, which has an annual call volume in excess of 1000
runs. Berlin Ambulance is known locally for their trademark smokestacks
and safety innovations in the design of their ambulances. The model is
1/32 scale and was originally produced by First Gear. The ambulance was
completely stripped down and disassembled before undergoing its
transformation. Some modifications include making a doorway between the
cab and box, patching existing windows, creating a new side window in the
box, adding a new lighting package, scratch building an A/C unit, and
making various changes and additions to the interior of the box. Equipment
such as a LifePak 12 monitor, first in bag, portable oxygen cylinder, clip
board paperwork and EKGs, and an on board suction unit were also added to
the interior of the model just like in the real truck...Seth Forry |

This model was
built to replicate Engine 606-1, a custom built American LaFrance operated
by the Jennerstown Volunteer Fire Department (located in Somerset County,
PA). The department runs approximately 200 fire and EMS calls a year, and
covers all events at Jennerstown Speedway, a NASCAR Weekly Racing Series
sanctioned asphalt short track. The model is 1/64 scale and was
constructed by combining body and chassis components from three different
Code 3 engines (Plano ALF, Clark County E-one, and Chief's Edition
Pierce). Some changes had to be made to the body compartments and hose bed
to match the actual style of the custom built engine. The yellow metallic
paint used for the cab stripe was airbrushed using some leftover PPG
custom mixed paint acquired from within the fire department. Numerous
other minor
modifications were also made during the building process to help
accurately
recreate this one of a kind engine....Seth Forry
