This entry is a fictitious piece that combines a Ferrera cab, Las Vegas pump, and a Chicago squad snorkel.  In this endeavor, I worked to incorporate some of the most up-to-date technology available. The unit features: A bottom-feed large diameter hose reel, a reinforced front bumper with a Warn winch, and a one piece front wind shield. In order to create visual interest and a contrast in the design, forward facing rear-view mirrors, similar to that of the Pierce Velocity,  were constructed. As Stokes' baskets were unavailable, a backboard was hand-constructed from cardboard and was later painted. In determining the paint sceme, it seemed that a blue top portion and a red bottom portion with the yellow stripe would be quite a unique feature. The blue background also helped the red warning lights to be more noticeable. This project encompassed five weeks duration...Darell J. Goodman

vehicle (based on a Mercedez Vito) which is used to transport a medical team (no patients which are transported by an other EMS unit or the fire dept). The model was repainted, all the rear compartment of the vehicle is made from scratch to match the real vehicle's rear compartment
(various bags, O2 bottles, boxes and other stuffs). I also added a GPS, the siren/lights control panel and 2 chasubles on the backs of the driver's and passenger's seats. But also managed to make all the lights work on the vehicle work (front and rear lights, lightbars, cat eyes
and  the yellow light to redirect traffic. To finish, the decals are home made The wires are nearly invisible in the truck, which makes me very proud.  The model was made for a friend of mine which wants to become an emergency doctor in this unit. I have made a short movie to show how the lights work because shots don't make them justice. If it can be added, here is the address of the movie : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2_JjdaHHnE

This is a kitbash of a Las Vegas TDA-1. Constructed of elements of Las Vegas snozzle 1 and the Los Angeles County TDA-31. The unit features a tractor portion that was constructed from the Las Vegas snozzle. The Los Angeles County turn table ladder trailer component was connected to the tractor portion. Minor adjustments include: a larger Las Vegas logo on the ladder, as well as additional fire-fighting equipment added to the exterior, (i.e. shovels, exhaust fan, etc..) This unit was inspired by the current Las Vegas Truck One currently in service. Built over a four-week period, this was my first kitbashing endeavor....Darell J. Goodman

The base model was a 1/43rd scale Minichamps Volvo V70 in red, which is produced in left-hand drive.

I dismantled the model stripped the paint down to bare metal and then re-sprayed it in white, I then hand painted the sills, front and rear valances in semi-gloss black, added the bumper and side rubber details with decals and then used my own decals to apply the unusual livery. This particular vehicle had the red & white chevrons on the side fitted in the opposite direction to the majority of the Hampshire Police fleet so I had to chop the decals about to get them the same way round.

The model is based on a real vehicle and is a close to the real thing as I could get it. The astrix* on the roof identifies this vehicle as an Armed Response Vehicle, the number 44 identifies it as belonging to Hampshire Police and the number 28 on the roof is how the Police helicopter crew will identify which Police vehicle they want to speak to. The small numbers on the sides are the vehicles fleet number.

I made a right-hand drive dashboard for it and fitted one of my own white metal lightbars. Repainted the interior to match Police spec vehicles and added a gun safe in the load area.

The wheels fitted to the real vehicle did not match the Minichamps model so I found a cheap Hongwell model that had the correct style wheels and fitted them in place of the originals....David Devaynes
